The Mystery of the Marionette Queen (Original title: The Curse of the Ominous Melody, Ballerina's Music Box) is the seventh episode of Season 1 in the overall series.
Summary[]
A mysterious puppet-like ghost called the Marionette Queen starts hypnotizing females and brings them into her music box and Ha-ri and her friends must find a way to break the spell before they get hypnotized.
Plot[]
It was Sun-mi and So-young's turn to clean up, so after class got dismissed the teacher asked them to take the human model down to the Science Lab. When they get down there, they hear a strange sound. There was a music box playing "Swan Lake" from the Tchaikovsky Ballet. Soon, both of them get hypnotized by the sound and a puppet-like ghost appears and asks them to dance with her.
Shinbi, on the other hand, is helping Doori practice his dance moves. When Ha-ri returns home, Doori apologizes for using his wish with Shinbi already. Ha-ri gets a little mad at him as she thought that she and Doori will wish for something together. Doori explains that he had no other choice as he and his friends decided to do a dance competition and he is the only one who can't dance and now, because of Shinbi's magic, he can move to the beat of any tune played for him. Hari asks Doori to show his dance and when he does, she finds it very weird.
The next day, after school is dismissed, Ha-ri tells all about how funny his little brother was to Gaeun and then, Sun-mi bumps into Gaeun. Sun-mi later joins So-young, who keeps on repeating the line "Need to go practice." Gaeun realizes that they are wearing some of the point shoes and tells Hari that something isn't right with them.
The next day, both of them are even more spaced out and keep on repeating the word "Dance Studio". When they are on their way, Hyunwoo accidentally bumps into Sun-mi and a point shoe from her bag falls out. Gaeun explains that this is one of the point shoes used in ballet; it reminds Hyunwoo about how they were repeating the word "Dance Studio". But then Ha-ri realizes that their school doesn't even have a dance studio - so where were they really going?
Sun-mi and So-young go downstairs and by the time Ha-ri, Hyun-woo, and Gaeun are there, they suddenly disappear. Hyunwoo felt very cold down there along with Hari. Hari says that the only thing here is the Science Lab and then Kanglim appears. Hari then remembers the time when she embarrassed herself in front of him but then asks him if he had seen Sun-mi and So-young. Kang-lim says he hasn't and doesn't know why they are here. Hari explains that she saw them coming this way and got worried about them, as she actually cares about people. Kang-lim says she shouldn't for her own good and heads back. Gaeun asks if he is her friend and then Hari remembers the time when Kang-lim saved her from Ethra and told her to not tell anyone about it. Hari replies that they are not friends and never will be.
The next day, both of them keep repeating the lines "Dance Studio", "More Practice", or "We need more practice". When Hari tries to stop them and ask them where they are going, Sun-mi replies, "Get off!" They try following them but they vanished again. Hyun-woo thinks that maybe there's a ghost down here but Hari says that she doesn't see anything unusual. Gaeun comes with the idea of checking the school archives to know that if the school ever had a dance studio. Hyun-woo then finds something amazing about the school's history in one of the books. It has been rumored that there is an odd music box melody coming from the school laboratory. Fifteen years ago, the school's Science Lab used to be a dance studio where classes and rehearsals would often take place and ballet was an integral of the arts curriculum. But for unknown reasons, all dance classes were discontinued. Ever since then, a music box playing "Swan Lake" could be heard after school. Unfortunately, the page on which the name of the owner of the music box was torn out. Gaeun thought it was more than just a rumor. Then she remembers that Sun-mi and So-young went to run some errands just a few days ago. They were all alone and they went after school. Hari then realizes that they were totally fine before that but started acting strange later. Hyun-woo thought that when they were down there, they must've seen something. All three of them rush back to the staircase but Hyun-woo is a little scared about it. He asks what to do if the music box starts playing but Ha-ri is confident about it and tells him that they'll then call Shinbi to help us. He'll also be able to tell us whether we're dealing with a ghost or not. Gaeun and Hyun-woo think it's a good idea and so, Hari summons Shinbi. Shinbi was practicing his dance moves so when he was summoned by Ha-ri, he was spinning upside down and landed on the floor and bumped his head. He got mad a Ha-ri if she summoned him for no reason but then, he smells an evil stink. He gets a little scared about it and feels cold. Ha-ri thought that something must've happened to the dance studio before it was a lab. Hyun-woo then tells everyone that the lights in the area are not working but the other parts of the building are fine so it's not a power outage. Shinbi then wishes good luck to them and tries to get away with it but Ha-ri pulls him by his ear and brings him downstairs. Gaeun and Hyun-woo then follow them. When down there, "Swan Lake" starts playing from the lab. Hari looks through the window but no one is there. A little scared Hari then opens the door of the laboratory. Shinbi explains that this force field belongs to the Passionate Dancer, the Marionette Queen. Gaeun thinks that "The Marionette Queen" isn't her real name. Ha-ri then realizes that the thing controlling Sun-mi and So-young is the Marionette Queen. Gaeun then hears a few screams and cries and tells everyone to hear that. Hyun-woo gets scared so he closes his ears in order to not hear the sound. Ha-ri tells Shinbi to help her take down the force field, quick. Hyun-woo gets scared about Hari going there and Gaeun says that she will go with her. Hari tells Hyun-woo that if he doesn't want to come, then he can stay but if something happens to them, he should climb upstairs and call for help. Shinbi agrees to open the force field but warns them that they will have to come back before Shinbi uses all of his magic or else, they'd be trapped in the ghost's dimension forever. Shinbi then opens a magical portal and Ha-ri and Gaeun jump in. Hari and Gaeun see that their friends have been forced to dance as ballerinas. When Ha-ri goes and tries to rescue them, then the same puppet-like ghost who is controlled by red-strings appears. After seeing the ballerina ghost, Ha-ri realizes that she was the owner of the music box. The music box starts spinning and the Marionette Queen and their friends start dancing. Sun-mi gets tired from her pose so she stops and the Marionette Queen gets mad at her. Sun-mi promises to get better and the Marionette Queen gives her one last warning. The Marionette Queen then counts the number of ballerinas she has and she just needs one more. This forces Hari and Gaeun to hide but soon enough, they get caught. Hari says that she doesn't know how to dance at all so The Marionette Queen ties her up upside down with the red strings. Gaeun, on the other hand, manages to hide inside the music box. But the Marionette Queen spins the music box so fast that Gaeun is forced to come out. The Marionette Queen tells Gaeun that if she can't dance with grace, then she doesn't deserve her legs. Hari, meanwhile, notices that the place was identical to the music box so she'll have to break the music box. Hari then summons Phantom Torso to help her out. Phantom Torso holds on to the Marionette Queen for quite a while but it affected Shinbi's magic. Meanwhile, Kang-lim jumps into the force field and unties Hari from one of his magical seals. When Hari's falling down, he throws another magic seal at her and she lands slowly. By that time, Hari got a hint that Kang-lim is in the force field. She quickly gets the music box but, unfortunately, Phantom Torso disappears as the Ghost Ball has no more power left. The Marionette Queen attacks Hari with her sharp fingernail which forces Hari to leave the music box there to save her life. The Marionette Queen gets very angry at Hari for taking away her treasure (the music box). Kang-lim then throws another magic seal at the Marionette Queen, giving Hari time to break the music box. The red strings that controlled the Marionette Queen disappeared and she falls to the ground. The music box starts breaking and all of Hari's friends who were hypnotized faint. Hari accidentally twists her ankle and falls to the ground. Hari then reads The Marionette Queen's backstory of how she died and why her soul isn't free yet. Hari learns that there was once a little girl who once had big dreams of becoming a ballerina. She was once practicing "Swan Lake" late in the school's old dance studio and listening to her music box playing "Swan Lake". The teacher then comes in and tells her that she has been chosen as the main dancer for "Swan Lake" in Russia. She was overjoyed about it. But on her way to Russia, a plane crash killed her and her soul got trapped inside the music box until she does "Swan Lake" for real. Hari learns that she needed only one more dancer to complete "Swan Lake" so she decided to be her last ballerina but her twisted ankle stops her from doing that. Gaeun decides to dance as the last ballerina and when she takes her place, everyone takes their. The Marionette Queen dances as the main dancer and Gaeun and the other girls whom The Marionette Queen hypnotized for them to be her ballerinas dance along with her with the music box spinning. The curse is lifted and the little girl's soul is free! The little girl thanks them and goes to sleep. Shinbi then questioned Hari and Gaeun if they saw any other human being jump into the force field but, Hyun-woo was right there and he didn't see anyone. Hyun-woo even made fun of that by saying that Shinbi trained Doori so well that he was able to run very fast but Shinbi didn't find that funny. Hari, knowing it was Kang-lim but even promising him to not tell anyone about it says that they should be better get home before the school locks them up for the night and everyone returns to their homes. Then is Professser Shinbi's class in which he welcomes the Marionette Queen and explains everyone about her dreams and her powers. The Marionette Queen then ties Shinbi up with the red strings and starts to teach Shinbi how to dance.

- When Hyun-woo was reading about the school's old dance studio, he was reading it in a box and a next title was just below it so there needs to be no 'next page'.
