Ghosts

Ghosts are supernatural entities that existence in the living world, they mostly serve as the main antagonists of the Shinbi Apartment series.

Overview

Ghosts are deceased beings that haven't moved on to the afterlife, and manifest as vengeful spirits. Sometimes, there will be demonic spirits that will manifest and will only exist to terrorize those around them.

Vengeful Spirits (Ghosts)

Vengeful spirits are created based on how the person or animal in their past life died. They come in all different forms, and there are plenty of them that have appearances that are referenced to different mythological creatures. Due to being vengeful spirits, they haunt anyone who are unlucky enough to stumble upon them, and in some cases if the person or animal was killed by someone else, they would try to personally target to get revenge. After their defeat at the hands of exorcists or any other individual capable of fighting ghosts, they will reveal their past life, and their vengeful appearance fades away and reveals themselves as a soul to move on to the afterlife.

Evil Spirits (Demons)

Unlike vengeful spirits, evil spirits are monstrous entities that weren't human before and exist on different planes of other dimensions like the Underworld. Majority of them are based around different urban legends, such as Slender Man and Incubus (which is most likely based on the "Have You Seen This Man" legend). Like vengeful spirits, they have a variety of abilities to aid them whether to terrorize innocents or during combat. Evil spirits were shown to be followers and servants to tremendous powerful evil entities like Underground Nation the King of All Darkness, Khan the black evil warlock who was a former exorcist centuries ago, and the four Reapers (Grim Reaper and Lamia), who are the most powerful beings in the underworld. When defeated, the evil spirit will disappear in a cloud of dark mist and will become one of the ghosts in the Ghost Ball.

Prophecies

Prophecies are both vengeful and evil spirits that appear in Season 3. They are summoned by an automaton called Ophikian to punish humanity. Their characteristics are similar to that of their usual counterparts. In the final battle with Ophikian, the latter recreates all of them to stop it from being prevented to complete its goal.

Trivia

• The reason why most ghosts want souls is because absorbing the energy from human souls is what allows them to remain in the living world after their time has expired.
